Father's Day

Happy to report Cadham is now "swimming" with his life jacket on. He decided to ditch the clingy stuff from last year and will now kick and paddle with the best of them. Mama's adjusting. Daddy is very proud. Fun time.

Cadham is more proud than he looks, I promise. At this point he had been in the water for about an hour. I think it was time to get out. Hopefully video will follow to document his new love for Jersey Boys.

Father's Day

Cadham had "Donuts for Dad" at school this morning where he gave him a homemade gift for Father's Day. He did a design on a huggie for him (drink holder, not diaper), painted a snack jar with his handprints (for the Daddy who doesn't snack, lol) and made him a card. And of course we all know Daddy didn't eat the donuts... But they still had fun!

Will really is a super Dad. It's a good thing because boy does Cadham love his Daddy. I'm so thankful for them both.

Happy Birthday!

It's been a quick 2 years since we welcomed Cadham to the world. He has grown up at breakneck speed. We're pretty sure by next year he's going to be able to dunk on Shaq when not practicing nuclear physics. That's if he keeps up his current developmental pace. But we'll settle for a hole in one in the next 365 days.

Some pics from Cadham's 2nd Birthday Fete. Shocking, it had a golf theme...

Because Cadham has a peanut allergy I baked the cupcakes myself. *insert pat on the back* It was by far the biggest point of contention but well worth it when it was all said and done. We ordered the personalized cupcake wrappers from etsy.com and printed them out ourselves, which I would recommend to anyone. Inexpensive and definitely made up for the "homemade charm" of the cupcakes :-)

We also had regular cake for the grown ups. Cause 'momma wasn't going to slave over cupcakes for kiddos and grown folks!

Keeping with the golf theme we had pitchers of "Arnold Palmers" to drink. Good thing because we were all sweatin like sinners in church!
Right after we sang "Happy Birthday" and blew out the candle. Cadham did it all by himself, which was so different from last year. An oddly emotional moment for me.
Cadham about to dive into his cupcake.

Getting some birthday congrats from "Uncle Bebo"

We had a couple of these misters set up, which I would also recommend. $15 at Lowes or Home Depot.

Cadham got some great Toy Story presents from Aunt Mallie and Nan and Granddad and a super tonka truck from Uncle Thomas (the real metal kinda- holla!). Pictures of those to follow. With a full description of the details of our Toy Story obsession. But did get some of his golf bag and clubs from Deedee and Papa.

He also loved this paint set from his friends Boots and Thomas. He would have sat here and painted all night but I finally had to cut him off so he would eat something. That's really saying something!
It was a super day! Hard to believe it's come and gone. Now for next year's theme....moster truck rally... JK

Catching up....again.....

We have been doing a lot here lately. We planted this season's tomatoes. Cadham has loved to help with the watering.

Then Easter rolled around and we had egg hunts at school...

And Cadham also got his own adirondak chair from Deedee and Papa... It's his favorite outdoor watermelon eating spot.
We dropped by the Crestline egg hunt. Wild and short lived....our egg hunt at Aunt Sharon and Uncle Andy's saw a lot more action. Next year I think I'm going to have to instill some "house rules" for Cadham, who chose to dig into his Canadian roots for an attempted body check/swat on his sweet cousin while going for an egg. What a bruiser....
 Cadham LOVES watermelon!

C has fallen in love with his bunnies. Guess it was all the Easter talk.
But he still remains true to his "love"...I wonder if this will go to college with him.
We just got back from a trip to the beach. We had a great time. This was the lunchtime version of our routine...about to sack out!
No surprise, Cadham loved playing golf on the lawn in front of the house.

We ate at a restaurant called George's and Cadham really did well and had a good time.
The restaurant has a frog theme so we put him in his froggy outfit. He liked looking at all the frog decorations.

And of course there was the beach.. Cadham wasn't sure about the sand at first but by the end of the week he was asking us to burry him in it. He never did tolerate a hat or sunglasses, much to my chagrin. Going to have to work on that.

Playing chase with Uncle David and Daddy.
My little hippo. He would not wear water wings/floaties at ALL. But finally we found this inner tube and he loved swimming with it. And it was a nice break for us to not have to actually "hold" him every minute he was in the water.
He loved to jump from the step in the baby pool. His swimming actually made some good progress. Of course he sinks like a stone when he jumps in without his tube but he loves doing it and is making good paddling and kicking motions.

He doesn't even mind his face in the water!

He loved getting a tug boat ride from Uncle David. We had a GREAT time. I think Cadham had the most fun of all of us, though.
